The design concept was for the house to be built on the water, as the client expressed a desire to connect to the water while taking advantage of the natural topography of the land. The approach taken was to divide the house into blocks according to the function, keeping the main communal spaces on the water’s edge. Each block would then be stacked and recessed into the landscape, providing a view to the water at every level. Construction was no less unique as marine engineering was involved in the process to make this house an enjoyable reality for the client.
